Job Summary
This is an opportunity to lead a great team in a therapeutic setting. With staff wellbeing at the heart of our company, we offer attractive rates of pay and excellent staff support. Our home is for two children and requires a Manager who has experience in leadership within in LD and complex needs.
Main Responsibilities
- To lead the children’s home and provide direction, guidance, support and leadership to all residential care staff in their delivery of excellent care services
- To model best practice approaches and support staff through challenging episodes with children.
- To be an effective member of the Senior Management Team and to represent the home provision as appropriate.
- To be a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) within the home.
- To ensure that the Statement of Purpose which sets the principles and values that the home works within is up to date, represents best practice, is inclusive and reflects the diversity of the home’s residential community.
- To develop, regularly review and update all Care Policy documents as required by current legislation and in accordance with best practice. Ensure these documents are followed and understood by all relevant staff and implement training programmes where required.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of young peoples care plans.
- To ensure all care staff are appraised annually, specifically to highlight and support any skill-gaps that they present in their role.
- To source and provide targeted training to reduce any such skill-gaps.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Successful registration with Ofsted.
- At least 2 years' experience of leading, supervising and managing a team in children's residential care
- Hold a completed Level 5 diploma in Leadership & Management or enrolment to achieve this within an agreed timeframe
