About the Role
PJ Slater Scaffolding is looking for a motivated and ambitious Apprentice Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the construction industry while gaining valuable hands-on experience in estimating and project support.
As an Apprentice Estimator, you will work closely with our experienced estimating and operations teams to prepare quotations, assess project requirements, and support the successful delivery of scaffolding projects. Full training will be provided while you work towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accurate quotations for scaffolding projects.
- Review customer enquiries, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Carry out site visits with experienced team members where required to assess access and scaffolding requirements.
- Measure and calculate scaffold quantities and material requirements.
- Use estimating software and Microsoft Office to prepare quotations and project documentation.
- Liaise with customers to discuss enquiries and clarify project information.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure estimates are practical and achievable.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, project information, and customer communications.
- Support the team with contract administration and project documentation.
- Develop an understanding of scaffolding regulations, health and safety requirements, and industry best practices.
- Assist with other estimating and office administration tasks as required.
