Cook Wanted: Help Us Make Mealtimes the Highlight of the Day!
Are you a culinary pro who believes that great food is the heart of a home? We are looking for a talented and compassionate Cook to join our team at our 25-bed residential home.
If you love the idea of cooking for a close-knit community where you can truly get to know your diners, this is the kitchen for you.
The Role
As our Cook, you won’t just be following a script. You’ll be responsible for providing nutritious, delicious, and beautifully presented meals for our 25 residents.
- Menu Planning: Creating seasonal, balanced menus that cater to various dietary needs (including diabetic, gluten-free, and soft-food textures).
- Kitchen Management: Managing stock, ordering supplies, and ensuring the kitchen runs like a well-oiled machine.
- Safety First: Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and keeping up-to-date with HACCP and Food Safety regulations.
- The Personal Touch: Chatting with residents to understand their preferences—bringing back those "homestyle" flavors they love.
Who You Are
- Experienced: You have a background in professional cooking (experience in a care or healthcare setting is a huge plus).
- Qualified: You hold a Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (or higher).
- Organized: You can plate up 25 hot meals simultaneously without breaking a sweat.
- Kind-hearted: You understand that for our residents, a good meal is about more than just nutrition—it’s about comfort and dignity.
Why Join Us?
- Work-Life Balance: No "restaurant hours"—say goodbye to midnight finishes.
- Impact: You will play a vital role in the health and happiness of our residents every single day.
- Supportive Team: You’ll be part of a small, dedicated staff that feels like a family.
- Competitive Pay: Plus benefits and opportunities for further training.
