Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in clients' lives by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their wellbeing. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to help others. Experience in care environments or home care is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans
- Support with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort
- Help with household chores including light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Administer medication reminders and monitor health conditions as instructed
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in clients’ conditions
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including COVID-19 protective measures
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for successful applicants
- Driving licence is essential for this role
- Good command of English, both spoken and written, is essential for effective communication
- Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining records and completing documentation digitally
- Strong communication skills are vital for building trust and rapport with clients and team members
