Shephards Motors is looking for an experienced and skilled Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, takes pride in their work and has strong diagnostic and mechanical skills. The ideal candidate will have solid experience carrying out wet belt replacements, timing belts and clutch replacements, as well as general servicing and repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs to a high standard
- Wet belt replacements
- Timing belt and cambelt replacements
- Clutch and dual-mass flywheel replacements
- Brake, suspension and steering repairs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
- Carry out vehicle inspections and identify additional work required
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults
- Complete all work safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop
- Provide excellent workmanship and customer service
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
- Be confident carrying out wet belts, timing belts and clutches
- Have strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Take pride in producing high-quality work
- Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Have a good attention to detail
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Have relevant qualifications such as NVQ/City & Guilds (desirable but not essential with the right experience)
