The Lodge is looking for an exceptional and experienced Outdoor Adventurer to help us deliver high quality experiences to our Little Lodgers and their families.

Our nursery is family run, and we are proud to offer spaces for children and staff that emulate calm and inspiring environments. Our pre-school rooms free flow into a huge garden where we grow vegetables, wheat and flowers. The Lodge Childcare is genuinely a unique setting where we are proud to put our staff at the centre of everything we do.
We are looking for a full-time member of staff to join us as an Outdoor Adventurer in our nursery.
What you'll receive:
40 hours worked shifts, 5 days per week, 07:30 - 17:30
Starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience

The Lodge has exceptionally high standards to maintain. We are respected for our work by our families and our Little Lodgers. The person to fill this role must be forward-thinking and show those special qualities that are so important to us here, alongside having the confidence, passion and experience to inspire children through outdoor learning and adventure.
We are looking for someone who is Level 3 qualified (or above) and has experience within a nursery setting, ideally with experience or a passion for outdoor learning, Forest School, nature-based learning or gardening.
Must haves:
Current DBS Certificate and on the Update Service (If you do not have a DBS, the Company will pay for it on your behalf)
Paediatric First Aid - If you do not hold a certificate, the Company will pay for this for you
Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)

Passionate about the outdoors and willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
Able to facilitate exciting outdoor activities where children can explore, investigate and take appropriate risks.
Able to engage appropriately with families in many different situations, showing empathy, kindness, fun and a sense of humour.
Able to inspire children through nature, gardening, outdoor play and real-life experiences.
Able to support team members in developing their confidence and understanding of outdoor learning.
Have a good understanding of child development and how outdoor environments can support children's learning and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities will include:
Creating engaging outdoor learning opportunities using nature as the primary resource.
Supporting children to explore, investigate and develop confidence through outdoor play.
Leading gardening, growing, creative and nature-based activities.
Ensuring outdoor learning opportunities are available throughout the year in all seasons.
Supporting children's learning journeys, observations and next steps.
Promoting a safe, stimulating and nurturing outdoor environment.
Working closely with the wider nursery team to ensure outstanding outcomes for children.
