URGENT: Dog Walker Needed ASAP – Immediate Start & Long-Term Growth Role
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Dog Walker to join our team and provide excellent care for our furry clients in The Wirral area.
Location: The Wirral - Bebington/Neston/Heswall and surrounding areas (must be based locally and able to drive with own vehicle)
Hours: Immediate full cover (usually between 10am-3pm), transitioning to long-term maternity cover and permanent role
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
About the role:
I run an established local dog walking business in Wirral. Due to a pregnancy-related condition, I urgently need a reliable, experienced walker to step in ASAP to cover my existing clients.
This is not just a quick temporary fix. I am looking for a trusted individual to cover my upcoming maternity leave. When I return to work part-time, you will stay on permanently to help manage and grow the business. If you take out a group, the earning potential increases significantly per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Walk dogs of various sizes, breeds, and energy levels
- Ensure the safety and well-being of dogs during walks
- Maintain a positive and fun experience for dogs in your care
- Provide updates to pet owners as needed (e.g. photos, messages)
- Follow the specific needs and instructions for each dog, including feeding or administering medication if required
- Keep accurate records of walks, routes, and times
Requirements:
- Immediate availability
- Experience caring for dogs - working with them preferably but not essential.
- Must have your own reliable transport suitable for dogs, as you will need to travel between clients’ homes and transport dogs safely, to and from walking locations
- Must hold a valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Be comfortable and confident handling multiple dogs of different breeds, temperaments and sizes, on/off lead.
- A love for animals and a genuine desire to provide excellent care
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Be physically fit and non smoking
- Willing to work in all weathers and love the outdoors
- You must be an experienced driver and have held a full clean license for a minimum 4 years, with ideally no fault accident claims on your insurance.
- Flexibility and availability during weekdays (core hours are 10am-3pm) and occasional weekend walks/pet sitting.
- Commitment - pets build relationships with you, so consistency is important. We are only looking for long-term dog walkers.
