We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our logistics team. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement efficient transportation routes to optimise delivery schedules and minimise costs
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor vehicle schedules and manage dispatching activities using specialised logistics software
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and driver logs
- Analyse transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and health & safety standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client queries promptly and professionally
- Utilise Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting and communication purposes
Skills
- Proven management experience within logistics or supply chain environments
- Strong driving skills with valid licences recognised in the UK
- Extensive knowledge of logistics planning, supply chain management, and transportation regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IT systems relevant to logistics management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members
- Exceptional customer service orientation with problem-solving capabilities
- Computer literacy with experience using logistics or transport management software is highly desirable
