Opportunities have arisen within the Intensive Care Unit at Furness General Hospital . We invite applications from experienced Critical Care Nurses who wish to develop their leadership and managerial skills.
You must be highly motivated, willing to take on new challenges and prepared to lead the Intensive Care team. You will be required to place a strong emphasis on Governance issues. There will be an expectation to lead on quality & developmental objectives as part of this role.
Have continuing responsibility for the delivery of care needs and maintenance of Clinical Standards on the ward/dept.
Ensure acceptable staffing levels
Provide information and data to the Critical care Network
Provide effective leadership and support to all grades of staff, planning and directing activities to provide the optimal standard of care.
Encourage the development of all staff
Ensure that the Ward/Department is clean and provides a safe environment for patients and staff and visitors.
To deputise for the ward/dept manager when required.
Participate in Directorate/site management responsibilities.
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
