Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our night shift team, working between 24 and 36 hours per week. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality care within a supportive environment, ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of our residents or clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, supporting care plans, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment during night hours. Experience in care home or home care settings is desirable, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
Duties
- Assisting residents or clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support
- Supporting individuals with their daily routines in accordance with personalised care plans
- Monitoring residents’ health and wellbeing throughout the night, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Ensuring the safety and security of the care environment during night hours
- Assisting with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems or paper records
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, residents, and their families to ensure a high standard of personalised care
- Supporting residents in activities that promote comfort and dignity during overnight hours
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Good command of English, both written and verbal, is essential for effective communication
- Basic IT skills to update care records and access relevant information efficiently
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care and safety
Pay: £13.45 per hour
