Civils Ganger

Pay Rate: £23 – £25 per hour (depending on experience)

EMR are currently looking for an experienced Civils Ganger to join a busy infrastructure project in Gatwick, working on the installation of EV charging points and associated electrical infrastructure.
This role will suit a hands-on Ganger with strong experience delivering civils and infrastructure works, with the ability to lead a small gang of operatives on site while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and coordinating a small gang of groundworkers and civils operatives
- Overseeing day-to-day civils activities and ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently
- Supporting the installation of EV charging point infrastructure
- Excavation and preparation of trenches and cable routes
- Ducting installation and associated civils works
- Installation of bases, foundations and concrete works for EV charging units
- Working around existing underground services and ensuring safe excavation practices
- Using CAT & Genny equipment to identify and avoid underground services
- Reading and working from drawings, site plans and utility layouts
- Liaising with Site Management and reporting progress and any issues on site
- Ensuring all health & safety standards and site procedures are followed at all times
- Assisting with hands-on civils and groundworks when required
- Ensuring the gang maintains high standards of workmanship and productivity
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Ganger on civils, infrastructure or utilities projects
- Valid CSCS Card
- Valid SSSTS or SMSTS
- CAT & Genny ticket and proven experience locating underground services
- CPCS or NPORS plant tickets (such as dumper, roller or 360) advantageous
- Experience working around utilities, ducting or electrical infrastructure advantageous
- Ability to read drawings and manage a small team on site
- Relevant additional site tickets and qualifications advantageous
- Own PPE
- Strong leadership, communication and reliability
