Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant (Nights) to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality care within a caring environment, supporting residents during overnight shifts. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering excellent service, ensuring the comfort and safety of those in their care. Experience in care home or home care settings is desirable, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during night hours.
Duties
- Assisting residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and mobility support
- Monitoring residents’ health and well-being throughout the night, including vital signs if necessary
- Supporting residents with medication administration as per care plans
- Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all residents during overnight hours
- Documenting observations and updating care plans accurately using IT systems
- Responding promptly to any emergencies or incidents, following established protocols
- Communicating effectively with residents, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
- Assisting with meal preparation or feeding if required during the night shift
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the care environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous
- Valid driving licence is preferred but not essential
- Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Proficiency in IT systems used for documentation and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals

Pay: £14.24 per hour
