J McRobb High Class Family Butchers are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic Butcher’s Assistant to join our busy team at Birkacre Garden Centre.
Working alongside our Butchers, you’ll play an important role in preparing our products, serving customers and ensuring our counters are always looking their best. This is a varied, hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Duties will include:
- Preparing marinated meats, kebabs and oven-ready products.
- Packing fresh sausages, bacon and other products ready for sale.
- Assisting with the preparation and replenishment of our display counters.
- Serving customers in a friendly, professional and helpful manner.
- Helping to create attractive, well-stocked displays.
- Stock rotation and maintaining high standards of organisation.
- Checking deliveries and putting stock away.
- Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
- Supporting the Head Butcher with the day-to-day running of the department.

- Can work efficiently in a busy environment.
Previous experience in food retail, catering, hospitality or food preparation would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
