We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our secondary school team, playing a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive school community.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school site, including opening and closing the premises, carrying out minor maintenance and repairs, and ensuring the buildings and grounds are well-kept. You will also support site security, health and safety procedures, and assist with setting up spaces for school events and activities.
We are looking for someone with good practical skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Previous caretaking or maintenance experience would be beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important. This role would particularly suit someone looking to develop a career in facilities management, offering valuable hands-on experience in a busy and varied environment.
In return, we offer a friendly working environment, opportunities for training and development, and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to a thriving secondary school.
The Council is committed to developing its bilingual workforce and welcomes applications from candidates who demonstrate their capability to work in both English and Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.
