Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood education and a genuine drive to nurture and support the development of children in a nursery setting. This role involves creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment for children, fostering their growth through play-based learning and effective communication.
Duties
- Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development across all areas.
- Establish positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive nursery community.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to track development.
- Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and organised at all times.
- Manage daily routines effectively, including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play.
- Communicate effectively with children using age-appropriate language to support their understanding and engagement.
- Demonstrate leadership skills by mentoring junior staff and contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.
Requirements
- A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is essential.
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children and parents.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm and positive attitude in a busy environment.
- A genuine passion for childcare, with the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Leadership qualities that enable effective management of staff interactions and teamwork within the nursery setting.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in early years education practices.
