Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Car Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts
- Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs and assembly processes
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements
- Diagnose complex mechanical problems using specialised diagnostic equipment
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and offering maintenance advice
- Lift heavy components safely during repair procedures to prevent injury or damage
Requirements
- Proven experience in vehicle repair and maintenance with a solid understanding of mechanical systems
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic charts
- Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics, including engine systems, electrical systems, and welding techniques
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment efficiently and safely
- Experience in assembly work within automotive or manufacturing environments is desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
- Basic knowledge of equipment repair procedures and routine maintenance practices
