To assist the Head of Exposure Management for Polo Managing Agency (PMA) and its managed syndicates on providing Exposure Management services across all property and non-property lines of business including catastrophe risk management, casualty & liability, post event reporting and regulatory returns.
To support the Exposure Management function at PMA, reporting to the Head of Exposure Management.
To help implement PMA’s Exposure Management Framework, including policies, procedures, systems and reporting, and implement appropriately across the agency and all managed syndicates.
To provide assistance to managed syndicates in line with PMA’s exposure management framework to help ensure that all regulatory obligations and deadlines are met.
Day-to-day activity will include:
Supporting syndicates with the management of catastrophe, and non-catastrophe exposure processes in line with agreed risk appetites and tolerances across multiple lines of business.
Providing Exposure Management support and guidance to syndicates to meet Lloyd’s expectations for Principles for Doing Business (PBO) expectations with regards to PBO 2a and 2b.
Contributing to defining and reporting appropriate cat view of risk into the LSM or Internal Model for regulatory capital setting purposes.
Produce reporting materials for Committees and senior management.
Providing guidance on validation of the cat view of risk and assisting in managing changes to cat view of risk and exposure management methodologies including appropriate communication with Lloyd’s Exposure Management team.
Assisting the Head of Exposure Management to implement PMA’s governance structure including the timetabling of committee meetings
Review and submission of regular and ad hoc Lloyd’s exposure management reporting.
Exposure Management (EM) Practice
To assist with all EM services including target operating model design and build.
Manage and support the day-to-day, onboarding and subsequent BAU delivery.
Look for, and implement continual improvements in process, accuracy and efficiency.
Continually assess new and alternative digital solutions, market developments and initiatives, to understand impacts to Polo, threats and opportunities.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s market in an exposure management related role.
Experience in filing Lloyd’s Exposure Management regulatory returns.
Experience of the Lloyd’s Business Planning Process.
Knowledge of exposure management processes.
Proficient level of IT skills.
Self-motivated and proactive.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively with others and establish strong relationships both internally and externally.
Preferably graduate and ACII qualified or working towards ACII qualification.
A strong understanding of the Lloyd’s market and exposure management functions within the market.
Knowledge, and a working understanding of PRA and Solvency II exposure management requirements, Lloyd’s operations and related regulatory reporting
Understanding of underwriting and outwards reinsurance.
Understanding of Lloyd’s Principles for Doing Business, with a detailed understanding of Principle 2 Exposure Management.
