The setting:
Cilfan@Cornist is a brand new Childcare setting, situated on the Cornist Park Community Primary School site. The provision will provide Wrap Around care, Flying Start and Early Entitlement. Cilfan@Cornist will focus on child led learning with a Reggio-style philosophy that develops children’s creativity. This philosophy will support children’s transition into full time school at Cornist Park CP.
The role:
The trustees would like to appoint a member of staff to work as a Childcare Assistant. Applicants should ensure they have the relevant qualifications in Childcare Learning Play and Development.
The Contract:
The role would commence in September 2026 for 1 year. As we are a new setting, the continuation of the role would depend on numbers.
The role will be term time initially, with potential for school holiday care in the near future.
Contract: Full time. Weekly hours to be discussed as part of the interview.
Salary: Between £10.85/£12.71 an hour (age dependent)

Desirable Criteria (Not essential as on the job training will be provided)
1. The understanding of a Reggio-style learning environment, where active, creative learning is at the heart of every day
2. The ability to build meaningful relationships with the youngest of children
3. Have an awareness of the 5 Creative Habits of Mind and how they are integral in preparing children for life in education and beyond
4. A willingness to be part of a positive working environment, where challenges are faced with enthusiasm
5. Have a good level of knowledge of child development
6. Take a trauma informed approach to interactions with children
7. Experience of working with the youngest of children
8. The willingness to work very closely with the Nursery staff at Cornist Park CP to ensure a consistency in practice and transition
9. The desire to be part of a kind and caring culture and environment for children, staff and families
10. Be able to communicate with clarity and kindness with a wide variety of stakeholders Qualifications
Pay: £10.85-£12.75 per hour
