Gymnastics Coaches are a key role within B.A. Academy. Working with children between the ages of 4 – 11, the gymnastics coach is responsible for the efficient, compliant and exciting facilitation of our sessions.
Role: Gymnastics Coach
Location: London
Hours: We offer sessions every day, so hours are dependent upon your availability. Most sessions are after-school but some clubs are held in the morning.
Pay: £15 to £30 per session
B.A. Academy offer a range of clubs within London at an ever growing number of locations, for which we are always looking for additional coaches! These schools are mostly after school (3:00-4:30pm). Please let us know if you have any other skills which may be relevant and we will happily discuss further opportunities with you.
Main Duties
- Plan and deliver fun, engaging coaching activities, sessions and programmes which progress week on week focusing on gymnastics, team work and fun
- Preparation and check of the activity space, ensuring all equipment is ready for use and any hazards are removed
- Ensure a register is completed at the start of every coached session for children, keeping an accurate record of attendees
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and that any faulty equipment is reported to responsible person
- Ensure activities are carried out by participants safely and advise on appropriate behaviours to reduce risk of injury
- Ensure all location health and safety requirements and rules are followed at all times, including fire evacuation procedures and food safety standards
- Ensure a safe and appropriate hand over at the end of the session to the parents/carers/responsible adult of children.
Person Specification
Qualifications and educational skills (these can be provided by B.A. academy if you do not have any of the following)
- An Enhanced DBS certificate
- A valid Paediatric first aid certificate
- Safeguarding certification
Essential
- Previous and proven experience of teaching gymnastics
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to share your passion for gymnastics
- Experience and proven record of delivering exceptional customer service
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Flexible and willing to work as part of a team
- Experience of working with Children between the ages of 4- 11
