We are looking for a Decorating & Maintenance Operative to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety. Decorating will make up a significant part of the work, but you'll also carry out general property maintenance, repairs and refurbishment tasks across a wide range of properties.
No two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal and external painting and decorating.
- Surface preparation including filling, sanding and making good.
- Wallpaper stripping and preparation.
- Minor plaster repairs and patch repairs.
- Silicone replacement and mastic work.
- Basic carpentry including fitting skirting, architraves, shelves and door furniture.
- General property repairs and maintenance.
- Basic plumbing repairs such as changing taps, traps, toilets and shower fittings.
- Basic tiling and making good.
- Installing blinds, curtain poles and fixtures.
- Reporting defects and recommending additional works where appropriate.
- Maintaining company vehicles, tools and equipment.
- Keeping work areas clean, safe and organised.
- Providing a professional service to customers and clients at all times.
Much of this role will involve working independently across a range of properties. You must be confident managing your own workload, making sensible decisions and maintaining a high standard of work without constant supervision.
You will be trusted to represent Lagom Property Solutions professionally while working alone, communicate effectively with the office and clients, accurately record completed work, and report any issues or additional works identified during your visit.
Reliability, good judgement and the ability to work safely while lone working are essential for this role.
Essential Requirements
- Previous decorating experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Desirable Skills
- Property maintenance experience.
- Basic carpentry, plumbing or plastering skills.
- Experience working in rental or student accommodation.
- Knowledge of mould treatments and property refurbishment.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
- Company uniform.
- Company vehicle during working hours (where applicable).
- Varied and interesting work.
- Ongoing training and development
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in producing quality work.
- Thinks ahead and solves problems without needing constant supervision.
- Is organised and looks after tools and equipment.
- Treats customers, colleagues and properties with respect.
- Wants to build a long-term career with a growing business.
Attitude is just as important as experience. We'd rather employ someone who cares, works hard and wants to improve than someone with years of experience but the wrong mindset.
If you're dependable, enjoy varied work and take pride in a job well done, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
