Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Saw Operator/Labourer to join our dynamic team. This role involves operating cutting equipment, assisting with fabrication tasks, and supporting the assembly of steel structures. If you enjoy hands-on work and have a keen eye for detail, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate saws and cutting tools to accurately cut sheet metal and steel components according to specifications
- Assist with fabrication processes such as grinding, welding, and assembly of steel parts
- Use hand tools and tooling equipment to shape, finish, and prepare materials for installation or further processing
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Support the team with general labour tasks including material handling and site preparation
- Perform basic measurements and calculations using math skills to ensure precise cuts and fits
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines efficiently
- Off loading deliveries using forklift truck.
Skills
- Experience with fabrication, grinding, welding, and assembly techniques
- Mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal work and steel fabrication processes
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment safely and effectively
- Strong basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
- Knowledge of safety procedures relevant to metalworking environments
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications is a plus
- Good physical stamina for standing, lifting, and working in a busy workshop setting
Pay: £12.80 per hour
