Accounts Assistant
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (37.5 hours per week)

Our client is seeking a proactive and organised Accounts Assistant to join their established Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional to work within a supportive environment, assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of a busy business.
Working closely with the Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions while supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase ledger invoices using Sage 200.
- Preparing supplier payments and reconciling supplier statements.
- Managing credit control activities using Credit Hound software, including customer direct debit collections.
- Producing customer statements in accordance with customer requirements.
- Processing customer credit notes.
- Raising and processing rental invoices.
- Processing sales invoices through the company's document management system.
- Uploading sales invoices to customer portals.
- Managing petty cash and completing weekly reconciliations.
- Handling incoming telephone calls and responding to finance-related email enquiries.
- Providing cover for other members of the Finance team as required (full training will be provided).
- Supporting the Management Accountant and Finance Director with ad hoc finance projects and administrative tasks.
The Ideal Candidate
Our client is looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant position.
- Experience using Sage 200.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- A professional and positive approach with strong communication skills.
Desirable:
- An AAT qualification or studying towards AAT.
Salary & Benefits
- £28,000 per annum.
