Job Summary
School bus/coach drivers required.
Minimum 30 hours per week Monday to Friday, Term time only.
up to 3 hours in the morning & up to 3 hours in the Afternoon.
Opportunity to work more hours covering private hires or rail replacement between the school jobs and at weekends.
You will be driving a range of vehicles from smaller service type buses to double deckers and 53 coach with manual gears. Therefore experience in driving a range or buses/coaches is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the bus in accordance with traffic regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bus interior and exterior.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes and schedules.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including those with disabilities.
- Monitor passenger behaviour to ensure a safe and pleasant journey.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to management.
- Keep accurate records of trips, including mileage and passenger counts.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for bus operation.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to schedules and safety protocols.
- Previous experience in driving larger vehicles is preferred but not mandatory.
