We are looking for a dedicated Assistant General Manager to support our clients operations in their well-established restaurant in Edinburgh City Centre.
As the Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. You will play a key role in managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high operational standards. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, including service, staffing, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver excellent service and ensure smooth, efficient shifts.
- Support with scheduling, staff management, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels during peak times.
- Help manage budgets, control costs, and optimize profitability while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
- Handle customer queries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and proactive manner.
- Work alongside the kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination between front and back of house operations.
- Assist with inventory control, stock ordering, and supplier management to ensure the restaurant runs efficiently.
- Step in to manage the restaurant in the General Manager’s absence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a high-volume restaurant or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and maintaining profitability.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to driving the success of the restaurant.
