VAT & Accounts Technician
Greenwood Accountancy is a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Teignmouth. We are looking for an experienced and motivated VAT & Accounts Technician to join our friendly team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accountancy practice experience who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking firm.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
· Preparing VAT returns for a wide range of clients
· Reviewing bookkeeping records and resolving VAT queries
· Working with cloud accounting software, including Xero
· Assisting with year-end accounts preparation
· Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital requirements
· Liaising directly with clients by telephone and email
· Working alongside our experienced team to deliver an excellent client service
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
· Previous experience working in an accountancy practice
· Experience preparing VAT returns
· Good working knowledge of bookkeeping
· Experience using Xero or similar cloud accounting software
· Excellent communication and organisational skills
· A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
· The ability to work independently and as part of a team
· AAT qualification (or studying towards one) would be an advantage but is not essential
