Some young people do not need another person to tell them what they are doing wrong.
They need someone to recognise what is getting in their way.
A specialist education setting in West London is looking for an inspiring Nurture Teacher and Deputy SENCO to join their team.
This is an opportunity to combine classroom teaching with SEND leadership in a hybrid role, supporting pupils with additional needs while helping strengthen the wider SEND provision.
The setting
The setting supports young people with additional needs, including SEMH needs, within a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
The focus is on understanding individual pupils, removing barriers to learning and helping every young person make meaningful progress.
The role
As a Nurture Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
- Adapt teaching to meet individual SEN and SEMH needs
- Build positive relationships with pupils
- Assess and monitor progress
- Promote confidence, independence and resilience
- Maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour
As Deputy SENCO, you will:
- Support the SENCO with SEND provision
- Help identify and assess additional needs
- Support staff with effective strategies and interventions
- Contribute to EHCP processes and reviews
- Work with teachers, pastoral teams, families and external professionals
- Help develop inclusive SEND practice
Who we are looking for
This role would suit an experienced teacher who is passionate about SEND, nurture and inclusive education.
You will ideally have experience working with pupils with SEN or SEMH needs and understand how to adapt teaching around individual pupils.
