Part-Time Delivery Driver / Workshop Labourer
Location: Glossop, Derbyshire
Pay: National Minimum Wage, with overtime and unsocial hours paid at time and a half

Hetherington Newman designs and manufactures high-quality bespoke furniture and architectural joinery. We are looking for a reliable part-time Delivery Driver and Workshop Labourer to join our team in Glossop.
This is a job-share position working alongside our existing part-time driver. The role will involve delivering furniture and joinery to sites across the country, although most deliveries are within Cheshire and the surrounding areas. You will also help with general labouring duties in the workshop when not making deliveries.
Main responsibilities
- Driving a large company van to residential properties and construction sites
- Loading and unloading furniture and joinery at our factory and on site
- Handling finished furniture carefully to prevent damage
- Assisting our fitting teams with deliveries and moving items into position
- General labouring and housekeeping duties within the workshop
- Helping to keep the workshop, loading areas and vehicles clean and tidy
- Assisting with the movement and organisation of materials and stock
- Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any issues
- Working early starts and occasional longer days when deliveries require them
- Providing occasional additional cover for holidays or busy periods
The right person will be
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular lifting and carrying
- Confident driving a large van
- Careful and respectful when working in clients’ homes and on high-end sites
- Flexible around early starts and changing delivery schedules
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Willing to help with general workshop duties when required
Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Previous van-driving experience
- Able to commute reliably to our workshop in Glossop, including for early starts
- Forklift licence preferred but not essential
- Previous experience in furniture, joinery, removals, deliveries or construction would be helpful but is not essential
Hours and benefits
- Part-time, working as part of a two-person job share
