The fantastic team at Arundell Vets in Doncaster is looking for a veterinary surgeon to join our team. Working a four-day week (part time applicants considered) with no out of hours/bank holidays and approx. 1:6 Saturday mornings with TOIL.
We are a friendly and supportive team of 6 vets with a wide range of interests so there’s always someone there to give you support and encourage your development. We have two sites, our hospital and our branch which has recently had a full refurbishment. We use VetsNow for out of hours, weekends and bank holidays, and they come in to our main hospital site overnight so our in-patients can stay in one place and be looked after by their dedicated team.
We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon capable of working independently in both medicine and surgery, without the need for clinical support.
Located in Doncaster, with excellent transport links to Sheffield, Leeds and York, the practice offers the perfect balance of city convenience and easy access to the countryside.
The specifics of the role can be catered towards your strengths and interests:
-
We have equipment to be able to perform a wide range of surgical procedures such as laparoscopic procedures and orthopaedic procedures, so if you’re interested in developing your surgical skills then this role would be ideal for you.
-
We also have a wide range of diagnostic equipment (including Imagyst, ultrasound, dental radiography, endoscopy and i-STAT) so if medicine is your area of interest, then you’ll be happy to know we are able to work up the vast majority of cases in house and have dedicated hospital shifts which are a mix of caring for in patients and seeing emergency cases, as well as usual consulting and operating days
-
Or if you like a little bit of everything, that’s OK too, our rota is catered towards what each individual likes to do
The salary is up to £50,000, dependent on experience (with scope for a higher package depending on additional certificates or experience) and well-behaved pets are very welcome to come to work with you.
Other benefits include:
-
40 hours over a 4-day week for our full time vets but part time applicants definitely considered
-
1 in 6 (approx.) Saturday mornings (8-12.30pm) with TOIL during the week
-
Paid RCVS, VDS and one other membership fees
-
Certificates and other CPD encouraged and funded with an allowance of £1750
-
5 weeks holiday and no bank holidays to work, and the opportunity to buy and sell holiday
-
Enhanced sickness, maternity, paternity, parental leave, surrogacy and adoption pay
-
Health and wellbeing cash plan
-
Cycle to work scheme
