About the role:
NPT Employability is seeking an experienced and motivated Mentor to join the Workways NPT team. this role is 100% funded by the WG through the UKLGF in Wales This exciting opportunity will see you play a vital role in supporting unemployed and economically inactive residents of Neath Port Talbot to overcome barriers, develop their skills, and progress into employment, training, or other positive outcomes.
Working across the community, you will provide tailored one-to-one mentoring support to participants aged 16+ who are unemployed, economically inactive, or at risk of unemployment. You will empower individuals to identify and achieve their goals through personalised action planning, practical support, and access to appropriate opportunities and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality mentoring support to a diverse caseload of participants.
- Assess individual needs, strengths, aspirations, and barriers to employment.
- Develop and implement tailored action plans and bespoke support packages.
- Support participants to overcome personal, social, and practical barriers to progression.
- Identify and source suitable employment, training, volunteering, and paid work opportunities.
- Prepare participants for employment through confidence building, job search support, CV development, interview preparation, and employability skills development.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with employers, training providers, community organisations, and partner agencies.
- Signpost and refer participants to specialist support services where appropriate.
- Use innovative and creative engagement methods to reach economically inactive and unemployed individuals.
- Conduct regular reviews to monitor participant progress and ensure positive outcomes are achieved.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant participant records in line with funding requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of the Workways NPT project and achievement of programme targets.
About you:
Do you have:
- Experience of working within the unemployed, economically inactive and those facing barriers to employment. Experience of recruitment processes and the current Benefit system.
- Level 3 in Advice and Guidance, Mentoring or Counselling. Experience in online databases. Experience of managing a caseload and achieving KPI’s.
