We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Care Worker to join our team and make a difference to peoples lives. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals in need of care within their own homes. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping others and the ability to adapt to their various care needs. We would like you to work every other weekend for a split shift.
Duties
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
- Support clients with mobility as required.
- Engage in meaningful activities with clients to promote mental and emotional well-being, particularly for those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Monitor clients' health conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for clients, ensuring their dignity and independence are respected at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or similar roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform moving and handling safely when assisting clients.
- Familiarity with meal preparation and dietary requirements is an advantage.
- Care certificate or willingness to obtain certification is essential.
- A caring attitude, patience, and a commitment to providing high-quality care are essential attributes for this role.
