Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including supervising junior staff and ensuring smooth workflow
- Manage food production processes, ensuring timely delivery of meals during service hours
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure quality and consistency
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for supplies, and manage inventory efficiently
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to develop their skills and ensure team cohesion
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service during service periods
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Experience in food production, menu development, and restaurant operations is highly desirable
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
