About the role…
Ipsum Water is looking for a motivated
Lining Technician (Operative) to join our growing Clean Water team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of specialist trenchless rehabilitation projects that protect, maintain, and improve critical clean water infrastructure across the UK.
Working alongside our Lining Engineers and operational teams, you will play a key role in delivering CIPP lining solutions for lead service pipes within clean water networks. You will support installation activities, prepare specialist materials and equipment, carry out CCTV inspections, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and customer service.
Clean water experience is preferred; however, we welcome applications from candidates with drainage, lining, trenchless rehabilitation, utilities, construction, or wider infrastructure experience.
As a Trenchless Lining Technician (Operative) - Clean Water you will…
- Support the installation of CIPP lining and patch repair solutions within clean water networks.
- Assist with the preparation of tools, equipment, materials, and lining systems for each project.
- Safely prepare and mix resins in accordance with operational procedures and safety requirements.
- Operate specialist equipment including inversion drums, curing systems, winches, and CCTV equipment.
- Support installation activities including positioning, loading, inflation, curing, and cooling of lining materials.
- Carry out pre and post-installation CCTV inspections to verify quality and performance.
- Ensure accurate CCTV footage and information is recorded for assessment and reporting purposes.
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, and confined space procedures.
- Maintain lining equipment, CCTV systems, vehicles, tools, and work areas to a high standard.
- Assist with loading, unloading, cleaning, and preparation of materials and equipment.
- Identify and report equipment defects, installation challenges, and safety concerns.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve operational efficiency and installation processes.
About you…
- Previous experience in drainage works, patching and lining, utilities, construction, or a similar operational environment.
- Experience as a Drainage Operative, Lining Operative, Utilities Operative, or similar role is desirable.
- CSCS and/or EUSR accreditation.
- Confined Space certification.
- Relevant lining installation qualifications or training preferred but not essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Understanding of CIPP lining and patch repair techniques, or willingness to learn and develop.
- Experience operating specialist equipment such as inversion drums, curing systems, winches, or CCTV units is desirable.
- Knowledge of safe resin preparation and handling practices.
- Awareness of health, safety, environmental, and PPE requirements.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach.
- Flexible attitude and willingness to travel nationally when required.
- Passion for delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.
