We have an exciting opportunity for you at Bruce's Ditchling!
We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Carer / Cover Driver, for approximately 26.5 hours per week.
About the role:
We are now recruiting at our Bruce's Ditchling for a loyal, motivated part time Carer Cover Driver who will love being surrounded by dogs, caring for their safe and healthy transportation to and from day care and provide our customers with outstanding service.
This is a customer facing role so you must be well presented, well spoken with good English and outstanding communication skills.
Please note that a DBS is required and you must have a full clean UK licence as our company vehicles are manual and at least 5 years of driving experience.
As a carer you will be:
Bringing your curiosity and creativity to life by collaborating with colleagues to deliver our weekly enrichment routines in line with our enrichment calendar.
Uploading photos taken of our four legged friends to our CRM system and tagging individual dogs for our customers to see what they get up to at Bruce’s
Providing a positive environment which leads to happy dogs and creates an atmosphere where we can unleash happiness.
Keeping a watchful eye on behaviour, turning potential conflict into opportunities for positive interactions, also providing suggestions and ensuring behaviour management plans are followed.
Being a helping hand when it comes to bathing, washing and towelling dogs prior to drop off.
Setting up enriching environments and ensuring they are safely closed down at the end of the day.
Caring for the equipment, fields and site and keeping them maintained, safe and clean (this also includes cleaning up after the dogs).
As a cover driver you will:

Help out on routes often at short notice and also for holiday cover. The routes start off in the surrounding areas and entail transporting the dogs to and from our Centre in Ditchling. So you would preferably be from the Ditchling area as this is where the routes start and finish.
Safely transport dogs to and from Daycare in our Bruce’s Doggy Buses and caring for them in the fields at our centre.
Demonstrate our Values at all times; Caring, Reliable, Positive and Passionate
Safely loading and unloading dogs into and out of the doggy busses
Maintaining a clean, comfortable and hygienic doggy bus (including cleaning the dogs down when it's muddy!)
Ensure the safety of all dogs is never compromised whilst they remain in our care (leads, gates, speeding, cornering).
Bathing, washing and towelling dogs prior to drop off.
Check each dog’s notes before dropping off for any updates to give to customers
Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and legally compliant
