Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Drivers to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across designated routes. The ideal applicant will possess a valid HGV licence, with experience in Supermarket store deliverie, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate chilled trailers and HGVmercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely collection and distribution of goods.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing of goods during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules or delays.
- Adhere to all legal requirements related to driving hours, tachograph regulations, and road safety standards.
- Assist with general vehicle maintenance and reporting any defects or issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly in Supermarket delivery roles.
- Valid HGV licence and CPC.
- Prior experience in driving large vehicles such as lorries or trucks is essential.
- Familiarity with road safety regulations, tachograph rules, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Experience in handling pallets securely and efficiently loading/unloading goods is preferred.
