Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance within their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, particularly in senior care and dementia care, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role requires a nurturing attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform various tasks that promote independence and well-being.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the healthcare team.
- Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is preferred.
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with dementia is an advantage.
- A valid driving licence is beneficial for transporting clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential.
- A caring nature and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care are crucial for success in this role.
