About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations and Settlement Analyst to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Company’s commodity trading operations by ensuring the accurate and timely processing, settlement and reconciliation of transactions while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
This position requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, counterparties, exchanges, clearing houses, brokers and the Company’s overseas parent company to ensure efficient operational support for commodity trading activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Process trade confirmations, settlements and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely completion of transactions.
- Monitor and manage margin calls and collateral requirements.
- Prepare and support regulatory reporting under EMIR, MiFID II and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with counterparties, exchanges, clearing houses and brokers to facilitate settlement and resolve operational queries.
- Maintain accurate operational records and support internal controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Support continuous improvement of operational processes and risk controls.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
- Experience in commodity trading operations, including trade processing, settlement and reconciliation.
- Sound knowledge of exchange-traded and OTC commodity derivatives, with familiarity with London Metal Exchange (LME) and ICE clearing and settlement processes.
- Experience using trade management, settlement or back-office systems within a financial services environment.
- Experience in audit, financial reporting, due diligence or regulatory compliance within the financial services sector.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple operational tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English, enabling effective communication with the Company’s overseas parent company, international clients, counterparties and service providers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and data management skills, with knowledge of Python, SQL or similar data analysis tools preferred.
- Experience using financial market information platforms (e.g. Bloomberg) is preferred.
- The right to work in the UK or eligibility to obtain appropriate permission to work.
