Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of the nursery. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring high quality childcare services, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children, and assisting the Nursery Manager in overseeing the staff team. Duties
- Assist the Nursery Manager in the organisation and delivery of high standards of childcare and early education programmes.
- Supervise and support nursery staff, ensuring effective teamwork and professional development.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote children's development.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Support with staff rotas, recruitment, and performance management processes.
- Maintain strong communication with parents, providing updates on children's progress and wellbeing needs.
- Assist with daily operational tasks including record keeping, maintaining cleanliness, and resource management.
- Support with administrative duties as required to ensure smooth nursery operations.
- Contribute to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment that promotes children's well-being.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting.
- Strong management and leadership skills with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating leadership qualities.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for travelling between nursery sites or community engagement activities.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining a safe environment at all times.
