The Waggery (based in Barnes, SW13) is looking for a hardworking and friendly grooming assistant to join the team on a full time basis.
The role involves preparing dogs to the highest standard ready for their haircut that includes bathing, drying, combing as well as dematting of the fur. For this position, previous experience of working in a grooming salon is desirable and the one with some grooming, i.e., clipping experience is preferable.
Dog grooming is a physical job, and you must be prepared to get your hands dirty as it involves cleaning after dogs as well as general cleaning of the salon. You are expected to work under pressure in a fast paced environment and being a reliable and supportive team member is a must. But most importantly you must love dogs and understand their needs as grooming salon won't be their favourite place for a lot of dogs!
To be considered for the position you must have a legal right to live and work in the UK and excellent spoken and written English.
Hours and day of work are 11.30 am to 5.30 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 11.30 am to 6 pm on Friday and you will be paid £12.71 per hour. The hours can be extended in the future based on your grooming skills.
