About the Role:
Edward House Care Home is looking for two friendly, caring and reliable Night Care Assistants to join our supportive and welcoming team.
Both positions are full-time, 30–40 hours per week, working night shifts. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality care and making a real difference to the lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
As a Night Care Assistant, your duties will include:
- Providing full personal care and support to residents throughout the night, respecting their dignity, privacy and individual needs.
- Carrying out regular checks on residents to ensure their safety, comfort and wellbeing.
- Responding promptly and appropriately to residents' needs during the night.
- Supporting residents with repositioning, continence care and other personal care requirements where appropriate.
- Following individual care plans and reporting any changes or concerns regarding residents.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date care records and completing night-time documentation.
- Keeping communal areas and other areas of the home clean, tidy and safe during the night.
- Supporting with general night-time cleaning duties as required.
- Following all care home policies, procedures, health and safety requirements and infection-control practices.
- Working as part of the wider care team to provide consistent, person-centred care.
Working as Part of the Team
- Take the lead and direction from the Senior Care Assistant on shift.
- Any concerns, incidents or issues should be reported to the Senior on shift and, where required, passed through to the Care Coordinators or Management Team.
- On-call support is available throughout the night should additional advice or assistance be required.
- Work positively and respectfully with colleagues to maintain a friendly, professional and supportive environment.

We also support staff who wish to develop their skills and work towards completing an NVQ in Health and Social Care, subject to eligibility and available opportunities.

- Able to follow care plans, instructions and procedures.
- Good communicators who are confident reporting concerns when necessary.
- Willing to learn, develop and take on additional responsibilities.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and respect residents' dignity at all times.
- Previous care experience is desirable, although training and development opportunities are available for the right candidates.
