The Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) Education Administration and Student Experience (EASE) team is made up of four areas: Clinical, Programmes, Research, and Student Wellbeing & Casework. The team is led by three Education Managers and supported by Education Coordinators across the teams.
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Education Coordinator (0.6FTE) to lead the administration of postgraduate research (PGR) degrees within the Faculty of Life Sciences. This is a varied and impactful role, overseeing the work of a small team and ensuring high-quality, timely support for students and staff across the full student lifecycle, from enquiry to completion
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating all education-related processes for designated PGR degrees
- Managing student recruitment, admissions, and scholarships
- Planning and delivering induction and cohort-building activities
- Overseeing student records, compliance, and reporting
- Line managing Grade 6 Education Administrators
- Liaising with academic leads, Graduate Tutors, and central UCL teams to ensure a seamless student experience
This is a varied and impactful role requiring excellent organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You’ll be part of a supportive team and have access to training and development opportunities to grow your skills.
Working Arrangements
This is a hybrid role with 60% of working hours on campus (pro rata). Flexibility is essential, as there will be peak periods, particularly around student-facing activities, when increased on-campus and external venue presence will be required. In addition, during induction and cohort building periods, the postholder may be required to be on-site five days a week (pro rata) for up to six-week periods at a time to support operational delivery.
This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff. Please visit https://www.ucl.ac.uk/human-resources/conditions-service-research-teaching-and-professional-services-staff for more information.
This is a dynamic and varied position where no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work independently, plan your own workload, and make decisions, while being fully supported by your Education Manager and the wider team. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as the role involves a broad range of activities and can respond to rapidly changing priorities.
You’ll be part of a highly supportive environment, with access to training and development opportunities to help you grow your skills across your chosen areas.
You’re a proactive, solutions-focused individual with strong organisational skills and an excellent eye for detail. You’re confident working both independently and collaboratively, and you bring a positive, patient, and professional approach to everything you do. Strong communication skills are essential.
