£28,912.00 – £32,526.00 per year, depending on experience.
About the Role
Hames Chocolates Ltd is looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our production team in Skegness.
This is a hands-on role where you'll help keep our production machinery running efficiently through planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, and repairs. You'll work closely with production colleagues, external contractors, and equipment manufacturers to minimise downtime and support the smooth operation of our factory.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and site equipment.
- Diagnose faults and respond quickly to machinery breakdowns.
- Carry out mechanical and basic electrical repairs where appropriate.
- Coordinate maintenance work with external contractors.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Support production by ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Promote high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with health and safety policies and company procedures.
- Liaise with machinery manufacturers and suppliers regarding spare parts, technical support, and equipment breakdowns.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a maintenance technician or engineering role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Good communication skills when working with colleagues, contractors, and equipment manufacturers.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repair skills.
- A good understanding of electrical systems, including motors, sensors, control circuits, and inverters (where applicable)

- Has a genuine "pitch in" attitude and is happy to support colleagues across the business.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification or qualification in electrical or mechanical trades (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) is advantageous but not mandatory.
