Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in evaluating and supporting the development of our Early Years apprentices and study programme learners studying level 2 and 3 Early Years qualifications, ensuring they meet key milestones and receive appropriate guidance. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to early childhood education through assessment, observation, teaching and personalised support, fostering positive learning experiences for children aged 0-5 years in their nursery settings whilst carrying out tuition and observations on the apprentices and ensuring they complete their apprenticeships timely to a high standard. You will also feel at ease building positive relationships with Employers and carrying out learner reviews with both the Employer and the learner at regular intervals. You will encourage progression and set deadlines as well as ensure all compliance paperwork is completed as well as encourage a natural progression to level 3 apprenticeships.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of developmental progress in various early years settings.
- Observe learners in naturalistic environments, documenting developmental milestones and behavioural patterns.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and Employers to develop tailored support plans that promote optimal development.
- Deliver training and guidance to early years practitioners on best practices and assessment procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, observations, and support strategies in line with organisational standards.
- Organise and participate in regular review meetings to discuss progress and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Utilise IT systems effectively to record data, generate reports, and communicate findings clearly.
- Promote inclusive practices that respect diversity and individual needs within early years environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in early childhood education or related fields such as teaching or childcare.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, Employers and colleagues.
- Proficiency in English language skills for report writing, verbal communication, and training delivery.
- Knowledge of IT tools relevant to assessment recording and reporting processes.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple assessments and documentation efficiently.
- A background or understanding of Early Years settings is essential.
- Relevant qualifications in early years education or child development is essential.
- Teaching qualification is preferred but training can be given.
- Assessors award is essential/IQA desirable.
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team. Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
