About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Permanent Makeup Technical Trainer, specialising in Korean PMU methodology, to join our London education and technical team. The successful candidate will deliver structured professional education, practical demonstrations, artist development, assessment and technical training, both on-site and online.
Our technical approach is built around skin integrity, controlled pigment implantation and predictable, aesthetically appropriate healing - not maximum longevity for its own sake. Training focuses on how a treatment is expected to look months and years later, not only immediately after it is performed. Candidates must therefore hold substantive professional training and practical experience in Korean permanent makeup technique and philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured practical and theoretical training in hyperrealistic nanobrows, powder/ombré brows, microblading and lip blush, in person and online.
- Conduct live-model demonstrations and supervise practical sessions.
- Teach the Korean-methodology relationship between skin characteristics, implantation depth, needle configuration, machine and hand pressure, pigment composition and long-term retention and fade.
- Deliver technical education in skin anatomy, wound healing, Fitzpatrick classification, and advanced pigment and colour theory (organic, inorganic and hybrid systems; undertone matching; neutralisation).
- Teach consultation, treatment planning, brow mapping and facial-anatomy-led design.
- Assess existing PMU and train students to judge when further implantation is, and is not, appropriate.
- Review student case studies, practical work and healed results, and provide structured written and verbal feedback.
- Conduct competency assessments and determine whether artists have reached the required practical standard.
- Support artist development through ongoing mentoring.
- Develop and maintain training manuals, presentations, assessment criteria and treatment protocols.
- Support quality assurance of studio treatment technique.
- Maintain current knowledge of Korean and international developments in PMU technique, pigments and equipment, and participate in international education programmes where required.
Essential Experience
- Minimum five years' professional PMU / micropigmentation experience, with genuine hands-on treatment experience across all four core disciplines: hyperrealistic nanobrows, powder/ombré brows, manual microblading and lip blush. Experience concentrated in a single discipline will not meet the requirements of this role.
- Experience assessing healed - not only immediate post-treatment - results.
- Experience training, mentoring or supervising other PMU artists.
- Formal training and demonstrable practical experience in Korean PMU methodology and philosophy.
- Experience working across different skin tones, skin types and Fitzpatrick classifications, including assessment and correction of existing permanent makeup.
- Strong working knowledge of hygiene, infection control and cross-contamination prevention in a cosmetic tattooing setting.
Korean PMU Methodology
Candidates must be able to demonstrate - and teach - Korean approaches to controlled, low-trauma implantation, skin-dependent depth adjustment, pigment selection and modification, and gradual, aesthetically appropriate fading, across brow and lip design. This includes discipline-specific technical competence in:
- Hyperrealistic nanobrows - stroke construction, direction, density, spacing, layering and skin-dependent adaptation.
- Powder/ombré brows - pixelation, gradient construction, saturation control and border softness.
- Manual microblading - blade selection, pressure, depth control, and recognising when manual technique is not appropriate.
- Lip blush and colour neutraliastion - undertone assessment, neutralisation, saturation control and prediction of healed colour.
Language Requirements
Professional fluency in Korean and English is essential. The role requires engagement with Korean-language technical and educational materials, communication with Korean PMU educators and professionals regarding technique, pigments, machines and protocols, and the accurate translation of Korean methodology into English-language education for students. General conversational Korean, without professional PMU vocabulary, will not meet the requirements of this role.
Qualifications and Portfolio
- Recognised PMU qualifications and evidence of Korean PMU training, experience or certification (or clearly evidenced equivalent professional experience).
- Trainer, assessor or education experience where applicable.
- Relevant infection-control and health and safety training.
- A substantial professional portfolio evidencing hyperrealistic nanobrows, powder brows, microblading and lip blush, including healed results across a range of skin tones and types.
Recruitment Process

Pay: £35,000.00-£43,000.00 per year
