Job Description:
Casa Environmental Services Ltd are looking for a trainee bulk analyst to join our busy team in our laboratory in Southampton to work towards becoming a qualified Asbestos Bulk Analyst. Training will be provided to work towards gaining your BOHS P401 recognised qualification within the industry. As a trainee bulk analyst you will be working within our laboratory at a microscope each working day, providing analysis of samples to identify any presence of asbestos.
This role may also involve some administrative assistance to provide support for our Asbestos Surveying and Analytical operations.
Candidates must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working hard to meet and exceed client expectations in delivering a first-class service to our ever-expanding client base.
In recent years Casa Environmental has become one of the leading asbestos consultancies in the South of the UK, delivering the highest standards of asbestos consultancy work to Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Government Departments, The NHS, Major Construction Companies and many other sectors.
As a trainee bulk analyst you will be responsible for assisting the Laboratory Manager and Branch Manager with various duties.
These duties include but are not limited to the following;
- Accurate identification and recording of results of asbestos fibres in samples
- The ability to prioritise and organise workloads effectively
- Accurately booking samples into the lab
- To work to the company’s established quality and safety procedures strictly at all times
- Maintain continued professional development with training and audits
- To provide administration support to the surveying function
- Generating survey reports and floor plans using the organisations specialist TEAMS software system to a high level of accuracy
- Working on own initiative and as part of a team
Essential Requirements
- Outstanding attention to detail
- High levels of concentration and patience
- A disciplined and methodical approach to procedures and health & safety
- Previous administration experience
- Good IT skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
- Ability to work within a fast-paced busy environment and enjoy working hard to meet client expectations
Desired Requirements
Experience working in the asbestos industry and/or the construction industry
Experience using The Electronic Asbestos Management System (TEAMS) software and Microsoft Visio
NVQ Business Administration
