The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to join our growing charity, with responsibility for our contracts across Stratford-on-Avon. The successful candidates will be responsible leading on day-to-day operations and development and ensure smooth running of support services in the district, including the Fred Winter Centre. Working alongside the Head of service, you will work to continually develop the centre’s services and be responsible for managing a team of staff and volunteers.
You will work with stakeholders and partner organisations in a collaborative way on joint projects and be a point of contact for day-to-day operations. You will need to be creative and flexible in your approach and be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies both within the Fred Winter Centre, and those supporting our wider Stratford services.
The Fred Winter Centre
The Fred Winter Centre is a one stop hub for people in our local community, located in the heart of Stratford town centre. It is supported by many charities, businesses, and public bodies, and is managed by an experienced housing association. All in one building, our partners and providers have come together to offer help and advice and access to affordable new homes.
As a multi-disciplinary community hub, the centre tackles hardship by providing a range of services to help people improve their health and well-being, overcome financial problems, secure job opportunities and sustain tenancies in local affordable homes. The Fred Winter Centre also provides access to self-contained affordable apartments within the same building.
You will also oversee the running of the Temporary Accommodation service along with Evesham Place supported by the TA Service Manager and the Evesham Place Co-ordinator roles.
The Temporary Accommodation Service consist of 40+ units of accommodation across the Stratford District ranging from family homes to shared HMO accommodation across Stratford District providing temporary accommodation while individuals are awaiting appropriate move on accommodation. The service supports people with a range of needs - including mental health challenges, trauma, substance use, offending histories, reduced mobility or previous rough sleeping – to stabilise, maintain their accommodation and build the skills and confidence needed for independent living when accommodation becomes available
Evesham Place is a recently launched supported accommodation service in partnership with Stratford District Council, providing safe, high‑quality housing and person‑centred support for adults at risk of or moving on from homelessness. The service supports people with a range of needs - including mental health challenges, trauma, substance use, offending histories, reduced mobility or previous rough sleeping – to stabilise, maintain their accommodation and build the skills and confidence needed for independent living.
The ideal candidates must have a proven track record and understanding of working with and delivering outstanding services to the public and ideally have experience with working with vulnerable people. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise your workload according to the changing needs and demands of the service, to provide a positive experience for those accessing Spring services in Stratford-on-Avon.
