Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Manager within a pub that serves food to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in hospitality, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supporting the management team in daily operations, overseeing staff, and ensuring the smooth running of the pub. The Deputy Manager will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of food safety, service quality, and team organisation. Previous experience in restaurant or pub environments, along with supervisory expertise, is essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Assist the General Managers in overseeing daily pub operations to ensure efficiency and excellent customer experience
- Supervise and motivate staff, including bar staff, servers, and kitchen personnel, fostering a positive team environment
- Support food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and quality control
- Manage sand oversee team to optimise productivity
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of the pub
- Oversee food production and service delivery, maintaining high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction
- Assist with stock control, ordering supplies, and managing inventory levels effectively
- Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally to uphold the pub’s reputation
- Support promotional activities and events to attract new customers and retain existing clientele
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety procedures
- Experience in food production and kitchen operations
- Familiarity with restaurant and pub operations, including serving and hospitality standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to liaise confidently with staff and customers
- Ability to demonstrate culinary expertise or bar experience is advantageous
- Proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on delivering exceptional service standards
