Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team for tramper/day and day shift operations. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating large bulk tipping trailer to deliver goods efficiently across various locations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including tipping lorries, adhering to all road safety and traffic regulations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with legal standards
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and meet deadlines
- Secure loads properly on tipping trailers, ensuring stability during transit and unloading
- Complete accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on routes
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders during pickups and drop-offs
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with tipping trailers and heavy goods vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and valid HGV Class 1 license
- Ability to manage delivery schedules efficiently while prioritizing safety at all times
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and clients
- Familiarity with delivery driver procedures and compliance requirements
