Who are we looking for? We are seeking a hardworking, dedicated team member to join us, you will need to be over 25 years old to meet the 3.5 tonne requirements for this role and for insurance purposes. Please read the full job specifications below.
Driving Duties
- Material Collection & Delivery: Operating company vehicles to collect scrap metal from commercial/trade/customers.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting daily safety walkaround checks (e.g., tires, lights, fluid levels) and reporting any defects.
Yard & Operations Duties
- Sorting & Grading: Identifying, grading, and separating ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Depot Maintenance: Assisting with yard housekeeping, such as sweeping, clearing spillages, and keeping the site tidy to avoid hazards.
- Customer Service: Assisting trade and public customers with weighing-in their scrap and directing them to specific drop-off bays.
Key Requirements & Qualification
- Licensing: A valid full UK Driving Licence with 3.5 tonne experience. You will need to be over 25 years old to meet insurance requirements.
- Certification: Forklift Truck (FLT) license and/or 360 Excavator (Grab) tickets are highly advantageous.
- Industry Knowledge: An understanding of, or willingness to learn, metal grades and waste disposal regulations.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform heavy manual labor in outdoor environments and in all weather conditions.
- Health & Safety: Strict adherence to site health and safety procedures and environmental compliance policies.
- Customer satisfaction: We pride ourselves on delivering customer service that goes over and above.
£13 per hour starting salary, rising with experience. 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00.
Full training will be given on site.
