We are urgently seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver specialised in regional distribution to join our team immediately. Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries for regional distribution routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Safely load and unload goods, including flatbed cargo, ensuring secure transportation
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to maintain safety standards
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and minimise delays
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle throughout shifts
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently during all aspects of the role
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with delivery routes involving flatbed loads
- Experience with driving in regional distribution environments is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of road regulations and safety standards within the UK
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo safely
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
- Flexibility to start immediately and work on an ongoing basis
