About the Role
We are looking for caring, compassionate, and dedicated Care Assistants to join our friendly team at our 62-bed care home in Barnsley, providing both Residential and EMI (Elderly Mentally Infirm) care.
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, choice, and wellbeing. Working under the guidance of Senior Carers and Team Leaders, you will play an essential role in supporting residents with their daily lives while helping to create a safe, welcoming, and homely environment.

Key Responsibilities
As a Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred care tailored to each resident's individual needs, preferences, and wishes.
- Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and maintaining dignity at all times.
- Assisting residents with eating, drinking, and nutritional support where required.
- Encouraging residents to maintain their independence and participate in daily activities wherever possible.
- Supporting residents living with dementia and other cognitive impairments using compassionate, person-centred approaches.
- Assisting residents to mobilise safely, using appropriate equipment and following moving and handling procedures.
- Providing companionship and emotional support to promote residents' wellbeing and reduce social isolation.
- Encouraging participation in activities and social events that enhance quality of life.
- Observing and reporting any changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental wellbeing to the Senior Carer or Team Leader promptly.
- Accurately completing daily care records and documentation in line with company policies.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention throughout the home.
- Promoting residents' dignity, privacy, equality, diversity, and individual rights at all times.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care is delivered.
- Following care plans, risk assessments, policies, and instructions provided by Senior Carers, Team Leaders, and the management team.
- Participating in handovers, training sessions, team meetings, and ongoing learning opportunities.
- Reporting any safeguarding concerns, accidents, incidents, or hazards immediately in accordance with company procedures.

Desirable
- Previous experience working in a residential, dementia, nursing, or care setting.
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
- Understanding of dementia care and person-centred approaches.
- Experience using electronic care planning or care recording systems.
